Oatmeal does not need to take a huge amount of time and energy. Actually you really don't need to cook your oats. Then, if you wanted to maximize your time even more, you could take this same recipe and set it up as an overnight success. You can choose, but either way it brings in good quality carbohydrates with protein and fat to stabilize your hunger and your energy.
Here's what you'll need
1 Cup of Organic Old Fashion Oat, prepare with boiling water or coconut milk
2 Tablespoons Chia Seeds
½ Organic Apple, chopped
6 Organic Pecans, crushed
1 Pinch of Cinnamon, to taste
Optional:
4 chopped Dates
2 Tablespoons of Dried Mulberries
Make it
Prepare your Oatmeal and chia seeds by simply pouring boiling water or coconut milk on top. (Just enough to cover the oats, but not to look soupy, and set aside for a minute.) Add chopped Apples, crushed Pecans, and Cinnamon to taste. For an extra bit of sweetness you can also add in chopped dates and mulberries.
Overnight Success??
Take a jar and put in the chia seeds, oats and whatever liquid you choose. On top of that put in the nuts and then top it with the fruit. Close the jar and place inside the refrigerator. These will last for a good 2-3 days. The next day, simply open, mix, and enjoy!
