How many diets have you been on during your entire life? And from those diets, how many of them gave you the results that you can see TODAY? Be honest....
For most, dieting is almost like a hobby, lose 10 pounds today, gain back 15 tomorrow, and do it all over again, and again, and again. Please "look at the pattern here", I have been trying to help, but I can only coach you to success, you have to do the work and really want it. My average client eats for socialization, comfort, reward, FOMO (fear of missing out), and to hide from something.
I have said it before and I will say it again, FOOD IS FUEL and that is all. During this quest for weight loss that you have been living, there comes a time to be honest with yourself and dig for the true meaning of food in your life. It is not the food that is increasing your weight, it is the reason you choose those foods, because you always have a choice. YOU are the only person responsible for what YOU eat.
Every time you diet and you gain back the weight it becomes harder the next time to lose again. This becomes a vicious cycle which leads to frustration.
If you have been experiencing this with little to no success, its time to change the pattern. What you have been doing has not worked so now you need to do something different and it will start with your mindset. Why are you so obsessed with eating the way you do? Why do you feel bad telling others that you don't eat certain foods? Are you hiding from your own beauty and success through food?
It's a tough subject, I know, but we have to have this discussion if you are really going to change your body, once and for all. If you are overweight, you have a reserve of calories on your body, that means that you can actually go without calories for days. The only thing telling you that you are hungry is your mind and your habits.
It is time to be truly honest with yourself and if you really want it, make it a lifestyle change, not a diet. If you really want it and you are willing to put in the work then you need to make changes that will lead to permanent results, not a quick fix.
You want to lose weight? It is hard to go cold turkey, but make one change per week and stick to it. In 4 weeks you will have 4 new habits, that's pretty cool. Here's the secret, listen up... get rid of all of the processed stuff in your pantry, refrigerator, and freezer. Drink more water. Get your carbohydrates from fruits, vegetables, and unprocessed grains, and be sure to eat a carbohydrate, quality protein, and quality fats with every meal and snack. The goal is to never get to your next meal famished, you should feel ready to eat. Proteins and fats will keep you fuller longer so use these guys to keep you satiated until your next meal.
